SUNDAY AM OVERVIEW The greatest need children have is to know and cherish the infinite value of God. We want children to become so aquainted with the Word of God that they treasure Him alone as the One who saves and satisfies the heart. The goal of our curriculium is to fuel spiritual desire in children by exalting the greatness and worth of God and His glorious work through Christ. We invite you to take part in a bold new vision for children’s ministry; a vision greater than the routine of recruiting volunteers and planning activities; a vision that recovers
the biblical mission for children’s ministry: exalting
God as the source, means, and purpose of all things. ~Children Desiring God Curriculum Staff

A Sure Foundation
Our church nursery should be an exciting and vital ministry in the church. It should be a launching pad for nurturing the faith of the next generation. A Sure Foundation: A Philosophy and Curriculum for Ministry to Infants and Toddlers is designed to help us transform our ministry to infants and toddlers into an integral beginning—a place of prayer for young children, a place where they hear foundational Bible stories, and a place where children learn simple truth statements and begin to memorize scripture as they form their language skills.
His Praiseworthy Deeds
We see glimpses of the greatness of God, but we are so finite and He is so infinite that we see only the “tip of the iceberg.” How then can we hope to help toddlers see an infinite God? Little by little and step by step we can build a foundation of understanding for little children. The goal of a A Sure Foundation: His Praise Worthy Deeds is to present great truths about God in very simple words, to show glimpses of who God is through the telling of key Bible stories, and to repeat those stories and basic truth statements over and over with the prayer “that the next generation…would put their trust in God” (Psalm 78:1-7).
He Established a Story (OT)
God has testified of His glorious deeds and mighty power. This curriculum explores God’s greatness by noting key themes found chronologically throughout the Old Testament. Bible stories are not written out; teachers prepare the lesson through the study of scripture using a list of key themes, opening illustrations, and application questions to acquaint children with a great God whose character never changes.
ABC’s of God
Right thinking about God is essential for the life of faith. Using the alphabet as a framework for teaching the attributes of God, this study explores the delight that God has in Himself as the source, means, and purpose of all things. Each lesson asks and answers three key questions, “Who is God?” “What is He like?” and “How should I act toward Him?” as it presents a theology of God for children.
How Majestic is Your Name
The names of God are wonderful revelations of His majestic character. This study presents the Hebrew names of God in the Old Testament and the names of Christ and the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. Each lesson encourages children to see and rejoice in the goodness and greatness of God as they
explore the meaning of His glorious names.
